Bank of America has launched an enhanced Travel Center, powered by Rocket Travel by Agoda, the strategic partnerships arm of Agoda. The launch reflects a broader shift already underway across financial services: travel is a core part of how banks build engagement with their clients.
The redesigned platform gives Bank of America clients a wider selection of travel inventory, improved search and filtering, and flexible payment options, including the ability to combine credit card rewards with a credit or debit card payment when booking travel. The expansion comes as a recent Bank of America report found that more Americans (77%) are traveling this summer compared to previous years, with international travel appetite also increasing. To meet that demand, the Travel Center now connects clients to more than half a million properties worldwide, flights from over 170 airline partners, ground transportation through more than 170 car rental companies, and over 400,000 activities.
Mary Hines Droesch, Head of Consumer and Small Business Products & Analytics at Bank of America, said:
As travelers seek meaningful experiences and ways to maximize their rewards, our enhanced Travel Center provides a more flexible and comprehensive way to manage travel. The new destination reflects our continued focus on delivering value and memorable experiences for clients.
For financial institutions, the launch illustrates a wider convergence between travel and loyalty. As clients weigh experiences alongside points and cashback, travel is becoming less of an ancillary perk and more of a reason for cardholders to stay engaged with a rewards program on an everyday basis.
Damien Pfirsch, Head of Rocket Travel by Agoda, said:
Financial institutions are redefining what a rewards program can deliver, and travel sits at the heart of that experience. We're proud to bring together Rocket Travel by Agoda's innovative technology and tailored capabilities, backed by the breadth of Booking Holdings' global travel supply to power Bank of America's Travel Center to bring travelers greater choice, flexibility and value.
The new Travel Center includes enhanced search and filtering to help clients quickly find options based on timing, price and amenities, an expanded range of hotels, flights and car rentals across more destinations and price points, and more comprehensive property details, including images, amenities and reviews, to support informed decision-making. Access varies by card product: depending on card type, clients can reach the Travel Center through the Mobile Banking app, Online Banking or Erica®, with access and redemption options set to expand over time. Cardholders enrolled in BofA Rewards can also draw on the loyalty program's Deals and Lifestyle Benefits to plan, pay for and enhance their trips.
The enhanced Travel Center points to a pattern playing out across financial services more broadly, as banks look to deepen engagement by embedding travel directly into the platforms clients already use, rather than routing them out to third-party sites. As reward programs compete less on points value alone and more on relevance and ease of use, travel is emerging as one of the clearest ways for financial institutions to turn everyday spend into lasting loyalty.
